Nottingham Forest are set to bring in Leicester centre-back Yohan Benalouane as Martin O'Neill's first signing as their manager.
The 31-year-old is not in Claude Puel's plans and O'Neill needs defensive reinforcements, with Michael Dawson and Michael Hefele struggling with injuries.
The Tunisia international played for his country at the World Cup but has not appeared for Leicester since last May.
