Most valuable Super League youngster: Brugge want Tzolis - Krmencik to PAOK in return?

In Krépin Diatta and Emmanuel Dennis, Club Brugge gave up two of their four most valuable players in the current transfer window. Up front, a replacement has already been found in Bas Dost, who joined from Eintracht Frankfurt, but there are still plans to add more players, particularly on the flanks. According to Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, Christos Tzolis has therefore moved into the focus of the Belgian titleholders.

The 18-year-old PAOK winger is one of the biggest talents in Greece and has been a regular starter since the end of the coronavirus break in June. With a market value of €4 million, he is the most valuable U23 player in the Super League 1 – and the winter update in Greece is yet to come. His contract with the three-time champions is still running until 2024, so Brugge would likely have to pay a significant fee

According to the report, PAOK are asking for around €10 million, which would make Tzolis the most expensive signing in the history of the Belgian club. Nevertheless, it is unlikely that Brugge will raise this amount, although the sale of Diatta to AS Monaco brought in €20 million alone.

Instead, there are reportedly considerations of including Michael Krmencik in the deal. The 27-year-old Czech joined Brugge for €6 million from Viktoria Plzen in January 2020, but struggled in his first year (five goal involvements in 18 matches). Earlier this month he was loaned to PAOK for the second half of the season and could move permanently to Greece as part of a Tzolis transfer. There, he has already scored three goals in six appearances across all competitions so far.
