:D Gönnen würde ich es Queen's Park eines Tages, aber das kann wohl noch lange dauern. Entweder Queen's Park oder Partick Thistle, die einzigen schottischen Vereine aus Glasgow :p

Burns out to hot-up Spiders attack

Wednesday 6th April 2011

Queen’s Park have signed former St Mirren youngster Sean Burns in a bid to pep up their attack as they make a final assault on a play-off place. The 19 year played for the Paisley side twice last season before joining Second Division Airdrie during the summer.

Hampden head coach Gardner Speirs said, “Sean has played a number of reserve games for us and looked good. He was highly recommended to us by coaches that have worked with him in the past and I am looking forward to seeing what he can do at Hampden.”

Striker agrees stay at Queen's Park

Tuesday 10th May 2011

Queen’s Park have been given a huge boost ahead of tomorrow night’s Third Division promotion Play-Off Semi-Final first leg against Albion Rovers with the news that star striker Jamie Longworth has signed on again for the amateurs.

Longworth, who joined the Hampden club from Junior side Kilbirnie Ladeside in the summer has found the net 12 times this season, including a hat-trick against Montrose at the weekend and head coach Gardner Speirs said, “Jamie has been in great form in 2011 with 11 goals in this calendar year. I am delighted that we have him signed on again.”

With his football future sorted PE teacher Longworth is hoping that his off the field employment situation improves as he said, “I am still only getting work as a supply teacher and hopefully I can get something more permanent soon. After 5 years in the Juniors I was delighted to get a chance at this level with Queen’s park and it was an easy decision to sign on again.”

Paul's back on the Spiders' beat
Gardner Speirs has moved to fill the gap left by the departure of Martin McBride, with the signing of experienced midfielder Paul Stewart. Paul played 17 games for the Spiders in season 2009-10, before leaving because of work commitments. However, Paul is now in a position to return to training and playing, and the manager is delighted that he has agreed to rejoin the squad. And although it's still not completed, Queen's are poised to add a goalkeeper to the squad within the next few days.

Spiders sign Peter Bradley

Tuesday 26th July 2011

Queen’s Park have signed Northern Irish full back Peter Bradley after the former Glenavon, Cowdenbeath and St Mirren player impressed during the Spiders pre-season programme.

The 20 year old copied St Mirren boss Danny Lennon’s move from Central Park to Paisley last summer, however he failed to breakthrough into the Saint’s first team squad and will now compete with the highly rated Darryl Meggat for a starting slot at Hampden.
